The cannabis plant, hemp, hemp oil, CBD - all these names are already well known to many people today. The hemp plant is more and more in the spotlight. Today there are many products made from the hemp plant. These include hemp oil and CBD oil. Since both come from the hemp plant, it can be assumed that they are the same product. Is this the case? No, quite the opposite. The two oils differ not only in their production but also in their application. We will tell you everything you need to know about hemp oil and CBD oil.
What is hemp oil?
Pure hemp oil, often referred to today as hemp seed oil is made from the seeds of the hemp plant. This oil contains valuable ingredients. In addition to the important omega-3 and omega-6 fatty acids, hemp oil also contains many minerals and vitamins. It is mainly used as edible oil, but cannot be used for frying. Hemp oil is also used for skincare. Hemp oil generally does not contain CBD or THC.
Ingredients of hemp oil
80% of hemp oil consists of essential unsaturated fatty acids. It is precisely these fatty acids that are very important for the body. The body is not able to produce them itself and is therefore dependent on external supply. That is why hemp oil is a very important edible oil. But there is another peculiarity that hemp oil offers: In hemp oil, the important fatty acids omega-6 and omega-3 are present in an optimal ratio between them, this optimal ratio is 3:1, so these two important fatty acids are in a perfect balance. This optimal ratio is very important and guarantees that the hemp oil is classified as being of very high quality. Because of this good balance, the World Health Organization (WHO) has declared hemp oil to be the most balanced oil.
Other ingredients also include gamma-linolenic acid, which is rather rare. Since gamma-linolenic acid is available in hemp oil, it cannot be found in any other edible oil. Hemp oil also contains secondary plant substances as well as minerals and vitamins. In addition to vitamins B1 and B2, hemp oil also contains vitamin E and folic acid. Magnesium, calcium, zinc, iron, manganese and potassium are just some of the minerals that hemp oil contains. It also contains carbohydrates, protein and fiber. It also provides all the amino acids, including the nine essential amino acids that the body cannot produce on its own. With all these important and valuable ingredients, hemp oil is almost a healthy food.
The effect of hemp oil
Basically, we can't talk about an effect with hemp oil. It is not a medicine and therefore has no direct effect. Nevertheless, its valuable ingredients contribute to a healthy diet and guarantee the supply of important nutrients to the body. Essential unsaturated fatty acids, in particular, help the body to achieve a good level of well-being. They contribute to the proper functioning of the cells, which in turn is very important for the health of the cells. Fatty acids also play a role in the hormonal system. The many vitamins and minerals they contain enable the body to maintain its basic functions. Thanks to its ingredients, hemp oil can strengthen the immune system, help reduce cholesterol levels and stimulate metabolism. Itching, which often occurs with skin problems, can be relieved. The ingredients can also help lower blood pressure.
Application of hemp oil
Hemp oil is supplied in bottles of varying sizes. Many manufacturers offer one-liter bottles. As hemp oil has to run out very quickly after opening, this type of packaging is rather unsuitable. It is preferable to choose hemp oil that is offered in 250 ml bottles. The quantity can be used quickly and the oil stays fresh. Hemp oil can be consumed directly, but it is also possible to use it to refine meals or to mix salads. The recommended amount should not exceed two tablespoons per day. It is important that hemp oil is neither heated nor used for frying. But it can also be used for skincare.
What is CBD Oil?
Unlike hemp oil, CBD oil contains the cannabinoid cannabidiol, known as CBD. It usually consists of carrier oil to which a pure extract of CBD is added. CBD oil is not used as an edible oil but is taken in drops. Many health effects are attributed to CBD, but few have been scientifically proven to date. What is certain, however, is that CBD oil contributes to a good sense of well-being.
Ingredients of the CBD oil
In the case of CBD oil, a distinction is made between pure CBD oil and full-spectrum oil. Pure CBD oils actually contain only CBD. The situation is different for full-spectrum oils, which have a much broader spectrum of activity. They contain other important ingredients as well as cannabinoids. In addition to other cannabinoids, CBD full spectrum oil also contains omega-3 and omega-6 fatty acids, gamma-linolenic acid, vitamins such as vitamins E, B1 and B2 and important minerals and trace elements such as potassium, iron, calcium, magnesium and sodium.
Effect of the CBD oil
As I mentioned earlier, science is still in its infancy when it comes to researching the potential effects of CBD oil. Some modes of action have already been confirmed, others are only suspected. Numerous field reports ensure that other possible effects are reported. So far, it has been assumed that CBD oil may have a pain relieving, calming, antispasmodic and sleep-inducing effect. To do so, it should be able to regulate the immune system and protect cells. It would also have an effect on the body's endocannabinoid system. Unfortunately, there are only a few modes of action so far that have been confirmed by science. However, numerous study results suggest that the CBD has great potential,
Implementation of the CBD Oil
The CBD oil is available in small bottles with a dropper. The reason for this is that CBD oil is taken in drops and works best when poured directly under the tongue. It can then be absorbed directly through the oral mucosa. It can also be added to food or drink. Bottles usually contain 10ml.
Differences between hemp oil and CBD oil - there are some
As can be seen, there are certain differences between these two oils. They differ in the way they are made. Hemp oil is obtained from the seeds of the male cannabis plant by cold pressing, CBD oil is produced by extracting the flowers of the female cannabis plant. They also differ in the possible effect. While hemp oil can have a positive effect on the body due to its many valuable ingredients, with CBD oil it is cannabidiol that provides a possible effect. In the end, the application is also different. CBD oil can only be taken drop by drop, hemp oil can be taken spoon by spoon or used in the kitchen. Both variants, however, offer many valuable ingredients, which are in themselves a reason to do something good for your body with them.
